DEER ISLAND People on Deer Island raised almost $1,400 this week for the fight against liquefied natural gas developments in Passamaquoddy Bay. On Tuesday, Oct. 16, proprietors of The 45th Parallel Restaurant, Diane and Janice Bustin, hosted a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, and held a 50/50 draw to raise money. At $10 per plate, all money raised went to the anti-LNG group Save Passamaquoddy Bay. Many people from around the island contributed food, helped serve and do dishes, and delivered take-out meals. Tiffiny Stewart won $129 in the 50/50 draw.
