Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay
Filed Date: 10/2/2014
Accession No: 20141002-5004
Description: Petition to dismiss, motion of Save Passamaquoddy Bay under PF14-19, et al.
Information: FILE LIST

Summary: Downeast LNG has taken no action in over one week to correct its official Resource Report 1 filing to the docket. In that filing, Downeast LNG reported it intends to regasify a puny 100 standard cubic feet per day of LNG to natural gas — less volume than 5'x5'x5'. Since the applicant has not filed a correction, the 100 standard cubic feet per day must be the correct intended volume.

Since the volume of regasified LNG is of insignificant value to US natural gas consumers, Downeast LNG is violating the public interest. Therefore, Save Passamaquoddy Bay petitions FERC to summarily dismiss the Downeast LNG Import Project (Docket No. CP07-52).

Oct 29

Issued By: SECRETARY OF THE COMMISSION, FERC
Filed Date: 10/29/2014
Accession No: 20141029-3008
Description: Supplemental Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the Planned Downeast LNG Import-Export Project and Request for Comments on environmental issues re Downeast Liquefaction, LLC under PF14-19.
Information: FILE LIST

Summary: Since FERC failed to mail out its Notice of Intent to Prepare an EIS — as Save Passamaquoddy Bay 3-Nation Alliance researcher and webmaster discovered and reported to FERC personnel present at the FERC Scoping Hearing in Robbinston on October 22 — FERC has extended the Scoping Period to end on December 1, rather than the original ending date of November 3.

Note that the Scoping Period in FERC proceedings is actually a "ghost" deadline, since FERC will continue to receive and consider scoping-related comments throughout the permitting process. But, as experience has shown, FERC's "consideration" of such comments is less than professional.
