Summary: FERC once again requests data from Downeast LNG arising from the applicant's Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). The original deadline for answering FERC's data requests was 2009 July 6, meaning Downeast LNG is already nearly 1 year and 2 months late in providing those answers.

FERC continues to indicate their deadline is not a deadline, at all, by writing, "If certain information cannot be provided within this time frame, please indicate which items would be delayed, and their projected filing dates."

FERC ejected Quoddy Bay LNG from the permitting process just shy of one year after that applicant failed to answer required technical questions. Downeast LNG has already gone well beyond that deadline abuse.
