Dec 2 | Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: Canaport LNG has received regulatory approval to export LNG. This is further proof that Downeast LNG has no purpose, and violates the public interest. |
Dec 18 | Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: The Marcellus natural gas field is booming, with production increasing 72% since 2011. Pennsylvania is destined to become the second-largest US producer in 2013. All six New England governors are cooperating to build natural gas pipeline access to the Marcellus. Downeast LNG violates the public interest. |
Dec 19 | Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: Portland Natural Gas Transportation System is nearly doubling its pipeline capacity from New Hampshire to Maine. TransCanada Corporation and Iroquois Gas Transmission System have both applied to deliver greater volumes of natural gas from the Marcellus, eastward. More domestic natural gas will be delivered to the Northeast, New England, and Maine, further killing Downeast LNG's already-bleak hopes of ever succeeding. |
Dec 20 | Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: Eastern Maine (a company in Baileyville) is re-exporting natural gas that has been imported from Canada via the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline back to Canada as compressed natural gas (CNG) via truck. They are trucking CNG to numerous customers in Maine, as well. There is plentiful domestic natural gas available, with more coming via new pipelines from the vast and prolific Marcellus gas field in Pennsylvania and New York. Downeast LNG is superfluous, and must be dismissed from permitting. |
Dec 27 | Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: Downeast LNG has no legal standing for FERC permitting, and must be dismissed. Filed By: Save Passamaquoddy Bay Summary: Save Passamaquoddy Bay has sent a letter to Maine's federal delegation notifying them of DeLNG having no legal standing for FERC permitting. |
