An LNG project (not in prefiling) that might have impacted those in Passamaquoddy Bay, and that has also proposed tidal dam projects in Cutler and at Half Moon Cove in Eastport, Sipayik(Pleasant Point), and Perry. 2013 Feb 7 — No permitting activity for these proposed LNG projects has ever occurred; thus, it is assumed they are Defunct.

2014 June 20
Downeast LNG announced in a press release that it will be pre-filing with FERC to apply for a new LNG project — to build LNG export capability, while eliminating one of the two previously-proposed LNG storage tanks.
2015 October 30
Downeast LNG asked to place permitting in abeyance until 2016 February 29 while investors examined the state of the market.
It does not take a financial genius to already know that there is no market for either of Downeast LNG's import or export proposals. Downeast LNG has apparently lost its investor, and Dean Girdis is frantically searching for someone else with more money than brains to throw money down his toilet.
—webmaster2016 February 29 (Posted to FERC docket on 2016 March 1)
Downeast LNG asked FERC to extend permitting abeyance even longer — until 2016 June 1.
Apparently, Dean Girdis is having trouble finding new investors who are willing to throw away yet more money on his boondoggle project.
—webmaster† 2016 Aug 17 — FERC dismissed Downeast LNG from permitting, killing the project.
